Sittwe Airport — Sittwe, Myanmar

Sittwe Airport sits at a low 27 feet above sea level in Sittwe, the capital of Myanmar's Rakhine State, on the country's western coast facing the Bay of Bengal, its single runway serving a coastal region separated from central Myanmar by a range of hills. Rakhine State sits along Myanmar's border area near Bangladesh, in a part of the country historically less connected to Yangon than other regions. Road and river travel from the rest of Myanmar can be considerably slower, which is exactly why this field remains one of the more practical ways to reach Sittwe.
