Bafoussam Airport — Bafoussam, Cameroon

Bafoussam Airport, coded BFX, serves Bafoussam, the capital of Cameroon's West Region, in the country's western highlands. The airport sits at 4,347 feet above sea level, a height that reflects the elevated, cooler terrain typical of this part of Cameroon compared to the humid coastal lowlands near Douala. A single runway supports domestic connections linking Bafoussam to Yaoundé and Douala. The West Region is home to the Bamileke people and is known for its productive agricultural land, growing coffee and other highland crops across its volcanic soil. BFX offers residents and businesses in this densely populated highland region an alternative to the long overland journey through Cameroon's mountainous western terrain to reach the coast or the capital.
