Atlas Brasil Cantanhede International Airport — Boa Vista, Brazil

Atlas Brasil Cantanhede International Airport serves Boa Vista, the capital of Roraima, Brazil's northernmost state, near the borders with Venezuela and Guyana. Coded BVB, the field's elevation is recorded at 276 feet, and just one runway serves the entire operation. Even with a single runway, BVB counts among Brazil's large airports, a distinction rooted in Boa Vista's position as the principal air gateway for this remote corner of the Amazon region. Flights from BVB connect Roraima primarily to Manaus and Brasília, since overland travel from Boa Vista to the rest of Brazil covers vast distances through dense rainforest. The airport has also handled significant humanitarian traffic in recent years tied to migration flows across the nearby Venezuelan border, adding to its regional importance beyond ordinary passenger and cargo service. Flights are occasionally delayed by the heavy tropical rains that sweep through Roraima during the wet season. Fuel and maintenance services at the airport primarily support the smaller aircraft typical of Amazon regional routes.
