Yeniseysk Airport — Yeniseysk, Russia

EIE, Yeniseysk Airport, serves the historic Siberian town of Yeniseysk in Russia's Krasnoyarsk Krai, situated along the Yenisei River. Once an important trade and administrative center in Russia's eastward expansion, Yeniseysk today relies on EIE for regional air connections given the vast distances and limited road infrastructure typical of Siberia. The airport supports domestic flights linking the town to larger regional centers like Krasnoyarsk, along with cargo and occasional charter services. Harsh winters and remote geography make air travel especially important for residents during months when river and road transport become unreliable. EIE reflects the broader pattern of small Siberian airports serving as essential lifelines for towns spread across enormous, sparsely connected territory.
