El Alcaravan - Yopal Airport — Yopal, Colombia

EYP is El Alcaravan Airport, serving Yopal, the capital of Casanare department in eastern Colombia's Llanos plains region. Yopal has grown significantly as a center for Colombia's oil industry, and the airport handles substantial traffic tied to energy sector workers, equipment logistics, and business travel connecting the city to Bogotá and other major Colombian hubs. Beyond oil-related traffic, the surrounding Casanare region is also known for cattle ranching and rich wetland biodiversity, drawing some ecotourism interest. EYP has expanded over the years to keep pace with Yopal's rapid economic growth, reflecting the broader development of Colombia's eastern plains as an increasingly important economic zone.
