Faya-Largeau Airport — Faya-Largeau, Chad

FYT is Faya-Largeau Airport, serving the remote Saharan city of Faya-Largeau in northern Chad. The airport is a critical transportation link for this isolated desert region, where extreme distances and harsh terrain make road travel between Faya-Largeau and Chad's capital, N'Djamena, difficult and time-consuming. FYT has also held strategic and military significance historically, given Chad's periods of regional conflict and the airfield's role in supporting government and military logistics in the country's northern territories. For a city situated deep in the Sahara, FYT remains one of the few reliable means of reaching the outside world outside of long desert convoys.
