Sovetskaya Gavan (Maygatka) Airport — Sovetskaya Gavan, Russia

GVN identifies Sovetskaya Gavan (Maygatka) Airport, serving the port city of Sovetskaya Gavan on Russia's Pacific coast in Khabarovsk Krai. The city's name translates to Soviet Harbor, reflecting its historical role as a naval and commercial port facing the Tatar Strait toward Sakhalin Island. GVN supports regional air links connecting this remote Far Eastern port to Khabarovsk and other cities, given the area's limited rail and road infrastructure across the vast, sparsely populated region. The airport has historically served both civilian and strategic purposes given Sovetskaya Gavan's importance as a naval base and fishing port along Russia's eastern seaboard.
