Wheeling Ohio County Airport — Wheeling, United States

HLG identifies Wheeling Ohio County Airport in West Virginia, a small regional field serving the Wheeling area along the Ohio River. The airport primarily supports general aviation, charter flights, and limited scheduled service, functioning as a convenience for a region historically tied to steel and glass manufacturing along the Ohio Valley. HLG's compact size reflects Wheeling's status as a smaller Appalachian city rather than a major metropolitan center, with most long-distance travelers instead routing through Pittsburgh. The airport nonetheless remains a useful local access point for business and private aviation in the tri-state area.
