Hassi R'Mel Airport — Hassi R'Mel, Algeria

HRM is Hassi R'Mel Airport, located in central Algeria near one of the largest natural gas fields in the world. The airport primarily supports the oil and gas industry, ferrying workers and equipment to and from the Hassi R'Mel gas complex, a cornerstone of Algeria's energy exports. Given the remote Saharan location, HRM functions less as a tourist gateway and more as industrial infrastructure critical to the country's economy. Flights are often chartered or tied to energy company operations rather than open commercial booking. The surrounding desert region underscores the airport's specialized role serving one of Algeria's most economically significant industrial sites.
