Honningsvåg Airport, Valan — Honningsvåg, Norway

HVG is Honningsvåg Airport, Valan, serving the town of Honningsvåg in far northern Norway, near the famous North Cape (Nordkapp), one of the northernmost points in Europe accessible by road. This small airport supports both local residents and the seasonal influx of tourists visiting the North Cape's dramatic cliffs overlooking the Arctic Ocean. Given the region's extreme northern latitude, HVG experiences unique conditions including the midnight sun in summer and polar night in winter, affecting both operations and tourist demand patterns. Widerøe typically operates short regional routes connecting HVG to other northern Norwegian communities, making it a key transit point for North Cape-bound travelers.
