Haixi Delingha Airport — Delingha, China

HXD is the IATA code for Haixi Delingha Airport, serving the city of Delingha in Qinghai province, western China. Sitting on the high Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the airport supports the sparsely populated Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, an area better known for its salt lakes, potash mines, and vast desert scenery than for tourism infrastructure. Flights at HXD typically connect Delingha to regional hubs like Xining, giving residents and workers in the mining and logistics sectors an alternative to the region's long overland routes. Given its high elevation and thin air, the runway and operations are engineered for plateau conditions similar to other Qinghai-Tibet airports. Traffic remains light, reflecting the remote, resource-driven economy the airport primarily exists to serve.
