Mianwali Air Base — Mianwali, Pakistan

Mianwali Air Base, assigned the code MWD, is a Pakistan Air Force installation located near Mianwali in Punjab province. Unlike civilian airports, MWD functions strictly as military infrastructure, hosting fighter squadrons and serving as a training and operational base within Pakistan's air defense network. The base has historical significance dating back decades and has been associated with various PAF training academies and combat units over the years. Public access is restricted, and there is no scheduled commercial passenger service at MWD. Its presence reflects Mianwali's role in national defense rather than civil aviation or tourism, distinguishing it sharply from typical airport codes that serve commercial air travelers in the broader IATA/ICAO code system.
