Nyagan Airport — Nyagan, Russia

Nyagan Airport (NYA) serves the town of Nyagan in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug of western Siberia, Russia, a region shaped heavily by the oil and gas industry. The airport primarily supports domestic flights connecting Nyagan to regional hubs such as Khanty-Mansiysk and Tyumen, catering largely to workers and residents tied to petroleum extraction activities in the area. NYA has a relatively short runway suited to smaller jet and turboprop aircraft, given the harsh Siberian winters that demand robust de-icing and cold-weather operational capability. As with many airports in remote Russian regions, air travel is essential infrastructure since road and rail connectivity to Nyagan is limited, especially during winter months.
