Ouarzazate International Airport — Ouarzazate, Morocco

Known to locals and the film industry alike as the gateway to Morocco's Ouallywood, OZZ serves Ouarzazate, a city whose dramatic desert light and proximity to kasbahs and the Atlas Mountains have drawn productions ranging from Lawrence of Arabia to Game of Thrones to studios like Atlas Film Studios nearby. Beyond cinema, the surrounding region has become globally significant for renewable energy, home to the Noor solar complex, one of the world's largest concentrated solar power installations, visible as a striking feature of the landscape when approaching by air. The airport connects Ouarzazate to Casablanca and, seasonally, to a small number of European cities, supporting both the film and tourism industries that depend on the town as a base for exploring the Draa Valley and nearby Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah. Its single runway handles a modest but steady volume of passenger and charter traffic.
