Pondicherry Airport — Puducherry (Pondicherry), India

Pondicherry Airport (PNY) serves Puducherry, the former French colonial territory on India's southeastern coast, known for its distinctive European-influenced architecture and cultural heritage. The airport handles domestic flights connecting Puducherry to major Indian cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, supporting the region's tourism industry which draws visitors interested in the town's French Quarter, beaches, and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. PNY has a relatively short runway that has historically limited it to smaller narrow-body and turboprop aircraft, though periodic upgrades have been discussed to expand capacity. As a union territory capital, Puducherry relies on PNY for both business travel and growing tourist arrivals.
