Ellsworth Air Force Base — Rapid City, United States

RCA is the code assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base, a major United States Air Force installation located near Rapid City, South Dakota. Ellsworth is a strategic bomber base, historically home to B-1B Lancer aircraft and previously host to intercontinental ballistic missile operations during the Cold War, with a nearby missile silo preserved as a national historic site. As a military airfield, RCA is not used for civilian commercial flights; nearby Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) handles passenger traffic instead. Ellsworth remains one of the larger employers in western South Dakota and continues to play a role in U.S. strategic airpower and, more recently, planned B-21 Raider basing.
