Sharurah Domestic Airport — Sharurah, Saudi Arabia

Sharurah Domestic Airport, using the code SHW, is located in the southern reaches of Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen, in the Najran Province. The airport serves the remote town of Sharurah, providing a crucial air link for a region otherwise isolated by vast desert terrain, including the Empty Quarter. SHW primarily handles domestic flights connecting residents and government personnel to major Saudi cities, given the impracticality of extensive road travel across this arid frontier area. The airport's strategic location near a politically sensitive border region also underscores its importance for logistics, security operations, and basic civilian connectivity in one of the Arabian Peninsula's most sparsely populated corners.
