Tubuai Airport — , French Polynesia

Tubuai Airport, coded TUB, serves the remote island of Tubuai in French Polynesia's Austral Islands, located south of Tahiti in the South Pacific Ocean. The airport provides the primary transportation link between this agricultural island and Papeete, Tahiti's capital, since sea travel across the distance would take considerably longer. Tubuai is known for its coffee cultivation, taro farming, and relatively undeveloped tourism compared to more famous French Polynesian destinations like Bora Bora or Moorea. TUB features a single runway suited to smaller aircraft operated by regional carriers serving the Austral archipelago. The airport's isolation underscores the broader reliance of French Polynesia's outer islands on air connectivity for commerce, healthcare access, and passenger travel to the territory's administrative center.
