Volkel Air Base — Uden, Netherlands

Volkel Air Base, coded UDE, is a military installation operated by the Royal Netherlands Air Force located in North Brabant, Netherlands. Unlike civilian airports, Volkel functions strictly as a defense facility, historically hosting F-16 fighter squadrons and, more recently, transitioning toward F-35 Lightning II operations as the Netherlands modernizes its air fleet. The base has long been associated with NATO's broader air defense posture in Western Europe. Public information regarding certain aspects of Volkel's historical role within NATO's nuclear-sharing arrangements has been discussed in defense and policy circles, though official details remain limited. UDE is not accessible for commercial passenger travel.
