Eurico de Aguiar Salles International Airport — Vitória, Brazil

Eurico de Aguiar Salles International Airport, carrying the code VIX, serves Vitória, the compact island capital of Espírito Santo state on Brazil's southeastern coast. The airport takes its name from a former state governor who played a role in Espírito Santo's early twentieth-century development. Positioned close to the metropolitan area that also includes Vila Velha and Serra, VIX functions primarily as a domestic facility, connecting the state's mining, steel, and port-driven economy to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and other major Brazilian cities. Espírito Santo's export trade, built around iron ore and related heavy industries, relies on roads and ports, with the airport adding passenger and light cargo capacity. Though modest in size next to Brazil's largest hubs, the airport remains the principal air gateway for the entire state.
