Vodochody Airport — Vodochody, Czech Republic

Vodochody Airport sits north of Prague in the Czech Republic and is historically tied to Aero Vodochody, a major Central European aircraft manufacturer known for producing military training jets. Rather than functioning as a passenger hub, VOD primarily supports aircraft testing, manufacturing operations, and general aviation activity. The runway infrastructure was built to accommodate the demands of jet production and flight testing, reflecting decades of aerospace engineering heritage at the site. Vodochody has occasionally been the subject of expansion proposals aimed at converting portions of the facility toward broader civilian or cargo use, though its core identity remains rooted in industrial aviation rather than commercial passenger service.
