Atikokan Municipal Airport — Atikokan, Canada

YIB is the identifier for Atikokan Municipal Airport, a small facility serving the town of Atikokan in northwestern Ontario, Canada. Surrounded by forested wilderness and numerous lakes, the airport primarily supports general aviation, forestry operations, and recreational travelers heading into nearby provincial parks such as Quetico. Atikokan's economy has historically leaned on mining and forestry, and the airfield continues to provide a practical alternative to lengthy road travel through the region. Traffic at YIB is modest compared to larger hubs, reflecting the town's small population, yet the airport remains an important asset for medical transport and seasonal charter flights. Its runway accommodates light aircraft typical of northern Ontario aviation.
