Whitehorse / Erik Nielsen International Airport — Whitehorse, Canada

Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport (YXY) is the primary air gateway to Canada's Yukon territory, perched on a bluff overlooking the territorial capital, Whitehorse. The airport handles scheduled jet service connecting Yukon to Vancouver and other major cities, along with charter flights supporting tourism to Kluane National Park and other subarctic wilderness destinations. YXY also plays a critical role in emergency medical evacuations and cargo resupply for smaller Yukon communities lacking road access. Named after a former Yukon MP and federal minister, Whitehorse International reflects the territory's reliance on aviation for connectivity across its vast, mountainous, and thinly populated landscape.
