Forquilhinha - Criciúma Airport — Criciúma, Brazil

Forquilhinha-Criciúma Airport, also known locally as Diomício Freitas Airport, provides air access to Brazil's Santa Catarina coal country, a region that reinvented itself as a global ceramic tile and floor-covering manufacturing center after mining declined. Located between the municipalities of Forquilhinha and Criciúma, CCM handles domestic flights linking this industrial pocket of southern Brazil to São Paulo and other major hubs, supporting the export-oriented tile factories and textile businesses that now anchor the local economy. The terminal is modest in scale, reflecting a regional rather than international traffic profile, though the surrounding area's manufacturing wealth keeps demand for business travel comparatively steady.
