Hercílio Luz International Airport — Florianópolis, Brazil

Hercílio Luz International Airport, carrying the code FLN, takes its name from the engineer and former Santa Catarina governor who also lent his name to Florianópolis's landmark suspension bridge. Built on Santa Catarina Island, the airport offers arriving passengers striking views over the Conceição Lagoon and the Atlantic coastline before touching down. Florianópolis has developed a reputation as a technology and startup center in southern Brazil, sometimes nicknamed the country's own Silicon Valley, and FLN increasingly handles business travelers alongside the tourists drawn to the island's renowned beaches and surf spots. A newer, expanded terminal replaced the historic original building in recent years, boosting capacity for both domestic routes and a growing number of international connections. Seasonal fluctuations remain pronounced, with summer months bringing far heavier traffic from vacationers across Brazil and neighboring Argentina.
