La Roche-sur-Yon Les Ajoncs Airport — La Roche-sur-Yon, France

EDM identifies La Roche-sur-Yon Les Ajoncs Airport, a small regional airfield serving La Roche-sur-Yon in the Vendée department of western France. Named partly after the gorse plant (ajoncs) common to the local landscape, the airport primarily handles general aviation, flight training, and occasional regional connections rather than large-scale commercial traffic. The Vendée region is known for agriculture, historical sites tied to the French Revolution's Wars in the Vendée, and coastal tourism along the nearby Atlantic. EDM supports light aircraft operators, aero clubs, and business aviation for the town, which serves as the departmental prefecture. Its modest scale reflects typical French provincial airports built to connect smaller administrative centers rather than compete with major international hubs.
