Alferez Fap David Figueroa Fernandini Airport — Huánuco, Peru

HUU is Alferez FAP David Figueroa Fernandini Airport, serving Huánuco in central Peru, nestled in a valley of the Andes. The airport is named after a Peruvian Air Force officer and provides a vital connection between this mountainous region and Lima, since overland travel through the Andes can be slow and difficult. Huánuco is known for its temperate climate, colonial architecture, and proximity to archaeological sites and coca-growing valleys. HUU's location amid mountainous terrain makes it operationally sensitive to weather conditions, and flights are typically short domestic hops on regional carriers, making air travel the preferred option for reaching this Andean city quickly.
