Ivanovo South Airport — Ivanovo, Russia

IWA is Ivanovo South Airport, serving Ivanovo, a historic textile-manufacturing city northeast of Moscow in Russia. Known as the Russian city of brides due to its historically female-dominated textile workforce, Ivanovo relies on IWA for domestic connections, primarily to Moscow, supporting business travel tied to the region's manufacturing and educational institutions. The airport has undergone periods of limited activity and renewed investment as Russian regional aviation has evolved, reflecting broader patterns of secondary Russian cities maintaining smaller air links alongside extensive rail connections. IWA's traffic remains modest compared to Moscow's major airports, but it provides a faster alternative to the several-hour train journey for travelers moving between Ivanovo and the Russian capital region.
