Jixi Xingkaihu Airport — Jixi, China

Jixi Xingkaihu Airport (JXA) serves Jixi, a city in Heilongjiang province, China, near the border with Russia and close to Lake Khanka, known locally as Xingkaihu. The airport supports domestic flights connecting this remote northeastern city, historically significant for coal mining, to larger Chinese hubs such as Harbin and Beijing. Jixi's location near the Russian border and its coal industry heritage have shaped its development as a transport and logistics node in China's far northeast. JXA plays a modest but useful role in regional connectivity, reducing reliance on long overland travel through a sparsely populated and often harsh winter climate region near Lake Khanka.
