Mudanjiang Hailang International Airport — Mudanjiang, China

MDG is Mudanjiang Hailang International Airport, serving Mudanjiang in Heilongjiang province, northeastern China, near the borders with Russia. The airport supports a growing number of domestic routes to major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, and it has also historically handled some international or cross-border charter traffic given the region's proximity to Russia and its role in trade and tourism with Russian visitors. Mudanjiang is known for winter tourism, including skiing and ice-related attractions typical of China's northeast, as well as nearby natural sites like Jingpo Lake, a volcanic crater lake. As Heilongjiang's tourism and trade sectors have expanded, MDG has correspondingly grown its terminal capacity and route network to support both business travel and the seasonal influx of winter sports visitors.
