Mývatn Airport — Myvatn, Iceland

MVA is the code for Mývatn Airport, located near Lake Mývatn in northern Iceland, one of the country's most geologically striking regions. The airport serves tourists visiting the area's volcanic craters, geothermal fields, and lava formations, offering a convenient alternative to the long drive from Reykjavík or Akureyri. Flight service to MVA has historically been seasonal and limited, catering mainly to travelers exploring Iceland's dramatic northern landscapes. Given Mývatn's popularity as a natural attraction featured in various films and documentaries, MVA provides valuable access for visitors seeking to explore this remote volcanic region efficiently.
