Ninglang Luguhu Airport — Ninglang, China

NLH identifies Ninglang Luguhu Airport, serving Ninglang County in Yunnan Province, China, near the scenic Lugu Lake shared with neighboring Sichuan Province. Opened in the 2010s, NLH was built primarily to boost tourism access to Lugu Lake, a high-altitude destination known for its clear waters and association with the Mosuo ethnic minority's matrilineal culture. The airport features a high-altitude runway typical of airports built in China's mountainous southwest, requiring careful operational planning for aircraft performance. NLH connects Ninglang to regional hubs like Kunming and Chengdu, supporting a modest but growing tourism-driven passenger base. Before the airport opened, reaching Lugu Lake required a lengthy and difficult overland journey through mountainous terrain.
