Åre Östersund Airport — Östersund, Sweden

Åre Östersund Airport (OSD) serves both the city of Östersund and the popular ski resort of Åre in central Sweden's Jämtland region, making it a seasonal gateway that sees sharp winter traffic spikes from skiers arriving from across Europe. Located a short distance from Östersund, the airport handles domestic connections to Stockholm as well as charter and low-cost seasonal flights, particularly during the ski season when Åre's slopes draw international visitors. Outside peak winter months, traffic is comparatively modest, reflecting the airport's dual identity as both a regional connector and a tourism-driven facility. OSD's single runway and compact terminal reflect its role serving a mid-sized catchment area rather than a major metropolitan hub.
