Sandefjord Airport, Torp — Sandefjord(Torp), Norway

TRF, commonly known as Sandefjord Airport Torp, sits about ten kilometers north of Sandefjord and roughly 110 kilometers south of Oslo, making it a secondary option for travelers heading to the capital region. Budget carriers, particularly Ryanair, built substantial route networks here over the years, drawn by lower fees than Oslo's Gardermoen Airport and a catchment covering Vestfold and the wider Oslofjord region. Sandefjord itself carries a distinctive history as a former center of Norwegian and international whaling, an industry commemorated at the town's whaling museum and reflected in its old harbor architecture. Passenger numbers at TRF have fluctuated considerably depending on which airlines maintain bases there, with periods of rapid growth followed by route cuts as carriers reassessed the Oslo-area market. Rail and bus connections link the airport to Sandefjord's town center and onward toward Oslo for travelers continuing their journey by land.
