Yancheng Nanyang International Airport — Yancheng (Tinghu), China

Yancheng Nanyang International Airport, coded YNZ, serves a Jiangsu province city whose very name translates to 'salt city,' reflecting over a thousand years of coastal salt production along the Yellow Sea. Surrounding wetlands host two significant nature reserves: one protecting the endangered red-crowned crane, another at Dafeng sheltering the world's largest reintroduced population of Pere David's deer, a species once extinct in the wild. UNESCO recognized these coastal marshes for their role along the East Asian-Australasian migratory bird flyway. YNZ also grew alongside Yancheng's automotive and manufacturing ties to South Korean investment, which brought joint-venture plants and industrial parks to the region. Regional flights connect the airport to major hubs including Beijing and Guangzhou, supporting both manufacturing-linked business travel and a small but expanding ecotourism trade built around the wetland reserves nearby.
