Maharshi Valmiki International Airport — Faizabad, India

Maharshi Valmiki International Airport serves Faizabad in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, sitting at 335 feet above sea level on the Gangetic plain. Runway details for this field are not documented in the available records used here, so no specific count appears for AYJ despite its international designation. Regional connections include Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport about 127 kilometers away, Gorakhpur Airport at a similar distance, and Gautam Buddha International Airport across the border in Nepal roughly 149 kilometers out. This cluster of airports across the eastern Gangetic plain reflects a densely populated part of Uttar Pradesh with several mid-sized cities competing for regional air traffic. Despite the international name, current service out of AYJ leans toward major domestic Indian hubs rather than overseas destinations.
