Heze Mudan Airport — Heze (Dingtao), China

HZA refers to Heze Mudan Airport, which serves Heze, a city in western Shandong province, China, named after the peony (mudan) for which the region is famous. Heze is one of China's largest peony-cultivation centers, and the airport's name reflects this local horticultural identity. HZA primarily handles domestic routes connecting Heze to major economic centers, supporting both business travel and the tourism drawn by the city's annual peony festivals. As a relatively newer airport compared to older hubs in Shandong, HZA has helped reduce Heze's reliance on ground transport to Jinan or Zhengzhou for air travel. The facility remains modest in scale but important for integrating this agricultural and cultural region into China's expanding domestic aviation network.
