Long Thanh International Airport (Under Construction) — Ho Chi Minh City (Long Thanh), Vietnam

Long Thanh International Airport, assigned the code LTH, is a large infrastructure project under construction in Dong Nai province, around 40 kilometers from central Ho Chi Minh City. It is designed to eventually take over most international and long-haul traffic from the badly congested Tan Son Nhat Airport, which sits hemmed in by dense urban development with no room left to expand. Vietnamese authorities conceived the project to give the country's largest economic region an airport with capacity to grow for decades to come. Planning calls for the new airport to open in phases, with an initial phase bringing it into commercial operation before later stages add further runways and terminal buildings, eventually making it one of the largest airports in Southeast Asia. As of now LTH remains a construction site rather than an operating airport, with no established airline routes or passenger figures yet, since regular commercial flights have not begun.
