Oran Es-Sénia (Ahmed Ben Bella) International Airport — Es-Sénia, Algeria

Ahmed Ben Bella, the revolutionary leader who became independent Algeria's first president, lends his name to ORN, situated in the Es-Sénia district just south of Oran, the country's second city and a historic Mediterranean port. Oran's layered past as a Spanish, Ottoman, and French colonial outpost shows in its architecture, and the airport today reflects the city's role as a commercial and industrial counterweight to Algiers further east along the coast. Air Algérie operates the bulk of scheduled service, connecting Oran to Algiers, other domestic cities, and destinations across France and Spain that reflect decades of migration between the Maghreb and southern Europe. The surrounding region relies heavily on the airport for both business travel tied to Oran's port and manufacturing base and for the steady flow of visitors connecting to family across the Mediterranean each year.
