Oran Tafraoui Airport — Tafraoui, Algeria

Oran Tafraoui Airport, coded TAF, is located near the city of Oran in northwestern Algeria, functioning as a dual-use facility supporting both military operations and limited civil aviation activity. Historically associated with French and later Algerian air force operations, Tafraoui has served strategic defense purposes for the region while occasionally accommodating civilian charter flights and training exercises. Oran itself is Algeria's second-largest city, an important Mediterranean port with a rich multicultural history influenced by French, Spanish, and Berber heritage. TAF's continued military role reflects Algeria's broader defense infrastructure along its northern coast, while its civil aviation functions remain secondary to the base's primary strategic mission. The airport's facilities include a runway capable of supporting a range of military and light civilian aircraft.
