Uzhhorod International Airport — Uzhhorod, Ukraine

Near Ukraine's borders with Slovakia and Hungary, Uzhhorod International Airport (UDJ) serves the regional center of Zakarpattia Oblast in the Carpathian foothills of the country's far west. The airport has historically operated as a modest regional facility, handling domestic connections to Kyiv and occasional flights to nearby European cities rather than the high passenger volumes typical of larger national hubs. Its location places it within a culturally distinct corner of Ukraine shaped by centuries of Hungarian, Slovak, and Rusyn influence, and the surrounding region is known for vineyards, thermal springs, and foothill scenery that draws domestic visitors. Scheduled civilian flights at Ukrainian airports, including Uzhhorod's, have been affected by the closure of national airspace amid the ongoing conflict, a situation that has reshaped travel patterns across the country in recent years.
