Nea Anchialos National Airport — Nea Anchialos, Greece

Nea Anchialos National Airport serves the city of Volos in the Thessaly region of central Greece, sharing its runway with a Hellenic Air Force base. VOL provides both domestic connections to Athens and seasonal international charter flights bringing tourists to the Pelion peninsula and nearby Sporades islands. The dual civilian-military nature of the airport is common among Greek regional airports, with the Air Force retaining a significant operational presence alongside commercial passenger terminals. Volos itself is a coastal city known for its port and access to scenic mountain villages, and Nea Anchialos Airport plays a supporting role in the area's tourism economy, particularly during summer months.
