Andravida Air Base — Andravida, Greece

PYR designates Andravida Air Base, a Hellenic Air Force installation near Andravida in the Peloponnese region of western Greece. Unlike commercial airports, PYR functions purely as military infrastructure, historically home to fighter squadrons of the Hellenic Air Force and used for national air defense along Greece's western approaches. The base has hosted various jet aircraft over the decades and occasionally supports NATO-related exercises given Greece's alliance membership. It is not open to civilian passenger traffic, and any IATA designation reflects historical or limited-use scheduling rather than regular airline service. Andravida town itself is a small agricultural center, and the air base remains its most strategically significant feature, tying the area into Greece's broader air defense network.
