Alxa Left Banner Bayanhot Airport — Bayanhot, China

Alxa Left Banner Bayanhot Airport sits in Bayanhot, seat of Alxa Left Banner in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a sparsely populated desert area bordering Ningxia and Gansu. The field's elevation reaches 4,560 feet, high on the arid plateau typical of this stretch of northern China. Public aviation records list no confirmed runway count for AXF, marking it as one of the more under-documented regional fields in the country's air network. Nearby airports fill in some of the gap in coverage: Yinchuan Hedong International, the closest, sits about 85 kilometers to the southwest, with Zhongwei Shapotou and Wuhai further out at 136 and 156 kilometers. Regional carriers connect Bayanhot to these larger hubs and to major Chinese cities beyond Inner Mongolia.
